Carly Waugh makes National Team
Handcyclist Carly Waugh of Knoxville wins big in New York qualifying for the World Games in Budapest, Hungary in the Fall. Carly Waugh continues her travels this past year across the US.
Adventure Amputee Kids Camp
Over 50 individuals with limb loss participated in the annual AAKC held on Fontana Lake on July 10th. The Patricial Neal IRC coordinated the water sports day for these amputee individuals from all of the southeast region. It is one of the highlights for the summer to be able to provide an opportunity for kids with limb loss just be kids. It is just a fun filled day of excitement for these campers.
SPARC is doing wll:
The Sports, Parks, Arts, and Recreation of Chattanooga had another successful event on Sat, July 17th in Soddy Daisy, TN. The IRC and several volunteers came to help SPARC with their annual eent. Over all, it was a great learning opportunity with over 237 participants.
Velo Classic coming in August
The second annual Velo Classic handcycle division is coming to Oak Ridge, TN. There are an anticipated 20 handcycle riders from across the US planning to visit Oak Ridge for the Tennessee USHCF state event August 20 - 22, 2010. Handcycle Division Race Director, Dennis Clark, is available to answer questions. They are currently seeking volunteers to assist with the race.
