FLAME Award Winner – Deana Marr

Our latest FLAME Award winner comes to us from Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center. Deana Marr, a CNA, on Pat Neal was nominated by two of her colleagues for her ability to interact with her patients in a compassionate and friendly way. The nominator states that Deana “manages to make the patient-caregiver dynamic melt away to simply a human interaction, all the while being professional and providing excellent care.” The nominator goes on to describe an specific instance in which Deana helped to feed a patient who wasn’t able to do so herself, all the while making the patient feel as though this was a casual interaction – two friends or colleagues sharing a meal. The nominator called her ability to give excellent care without appearing to be a caregiver “remarkable to observe.”

Congratulations, Deana – we are proud to have you on the Patricia Neal team, and we know our patients appreciate you!

The FLAME Award was created by FSRMC’s Patient Family Partnership Council in 2018 to recognize our non-nurse employees who have gone above and beyond to improve the hospital experience for our patients and their family members. To nominate an extraordinary staff member, click here.
